Choosing between 2-port vs. 4-port satellite multiswitches for the 45STV.
Question
In North America, there are some multi-switches that have four satellite input ports. Should I use this type of multi-switch?
Answer
These types of multi-switches are typically made for land based satellite TV antennas. The four satellite in ports correspond to 13V, 13V + 22kHz, 18V, and 18V + 22kHz. Since our system only has a dual LNB with two RF cables, this type of setup can be complex and require frequent attention. While this type of switch could work in certain applications, we recommend installing a multi-switch with only two satellite in ports.
